(TheLastPatriotNews.com) – Hundreds of illegal aliens stormed the U.S. border at the Paso Del Norte Bridge, which leads from Mexico’s Ciudad Juarez to El Paso, Texas.
The migrants’ rush to cross into the United States was caught on video and later confirmed by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agency officials.
You can watch a video of what happened further down this post.
The border storming attempt, which occurred on Sunday afternoon, led the Border Patrol to use “port hardening measures” to “temporarily” stop the migrant onslaught,” the agency said in a statement cited by The Daily Caller.
The report notes it is “unclear what caused the rush,” but it has occurred against the backdrop of a “record surge” in the number of illegal immigrant apprehensions on the Southern Border.
“CBP is working to maintain the legal and orderly flow of entry to the U.S. while protecting the safety and security of legitimate trade and travel, CBP facilities and the CBP workforce,” CBP said, responding to the event.
“The CBP response included the deployment of physical barriers to restrict entry. As of 5 pm, there is no traffic processing occurring at PDN,” the agency elaborated.
It also noted that its operations at two other border crossings – Stanton and the Bridge of the Americas – caused “temporary disruptions” due to different groups of migrants.
“Barricades were used at the Stanton crossing from 2 pm until 2:45 pm and at the Bridge of the Americas from 2:45 pm until 3:30 pm,” CBP said.
The agency also said U.S. Border Patrol and Office of Field Operations Special Response Team agents had been deployed to help its officers manage the situation.
CBP data shows close to 2.4 million illegals were arrested at the border in the 2022 fiscal year, which ended on September 30. Another 870,000 migrants were nabbed between October 1 and January 31.
More than 6 million illegal immigrants have invaded the United States since Joe Biden became president – including nearly 2 million gotaways who weren’t even detained.
The Biden administration has allowed heightened migrant traffic at U.S. border ports. It has also enabled many illegals arriving there to apply for exemptions to Title 42, the swift expulsion policy adopted under former President Donald Trump, through a smartphone application called CBP One.
Many illegal immigrants also hope the Biden administration would terminate Title 42 on May 11.
El Paso, the closest U.S. city to the Paso Del Norte Bridge, was also where President Joe Biden made his only visit to the US-Mexican border so far – although he remained in the cleaned-up downtown and did not technically go to the actual border.
The surge of illegal immigrant numbers in El Paso in the past few months has led the city to apply for aid from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and bus illegals to New York City.
