(TheLastPatriotNews.com) – Gas prices throughout the United States are set to go back to $4 a gallon on President Joe Biden’s watch within months, a report has warned.
Gas prices have declined after reaching unprecedented highs this spring and summer amid the broader sky-high inflation named “Bidenflation” after the Democrat occupant of the White House.
However, American consumers may have to once again pay $4 for a gallon of gas as earlier as May 2023, GasBuddy reports, as cited by Breitbart News.
According to the American Automobile Association, the national average gas price in the United States stood at $3.10 on Tuesday.
The number is about 70 cents higher than the $2.40 average when former President Donald Trump left the White House in January 2021.
Earlier this year, some US states saw more than $7 a gallon gas prices.
One expert estimate said American workers paid an extra $5,520 in 2022 due to the sky-high fuel costs.
A report by the conservative Heritage Foundation calculated that Americans’ annual income loss since Biden occupied the White House amounted to $4,200.
“2023 is not going to be a cakewalk for motorists. It could be expensive,” commented GasBuddy’s head of petroleum analysis, Patrick De Haan.
“The national average could breach $4 a gallon as early as May — and that’s something that could last through much of the summer driving season,” the analyst told CNN.
Gas prices have decreased in the past few months, partly because of the slowing economy and partly because Biden tapped the Strategic Petroleum Reserve, leaving it at a 40-year low.
“Biden’s decision to drain the Strategic Oil Reserves comes amid an energy crisis brought on in large part due to the administration’s policies,” Breitbart News commented.
Seemingly making good on his 2020 presidential campaign promise to slash oil drilling, the Democrat President’s administration has spiked oil drilling costs, ended drilling on public lands, and ended the Keystone pipeline.
Against that backdrop, the administration has been seeking to convince Americans to buy “expensive green products to avoid high fuel prices.”
Ahead of the November 8 midterm elections, Biden also asked Saudi Arabia to boost its oil production projections.
In October, a New York Times report revealed the administration and the Saudis had a “secret deal to boost oil production” to reduce US gas prices before the midterms.
“[Biden is] putting his own political interest ahead of the national interest by calling on the Saudis to hold off on cuts to oil production until after the midterms,” Breitbart News reported at the time, noting that former President Donald Trump “was impeached for allegedly doing what Biden did.”
