Was Maxine Waters Funneling Campaign Money to Her Daughter?

(TheLastPatriotNews.com) – Corruption in the US government can be difficult to expose, especially when it comes to questionable campaign finances. The jury is still out on Representative Maxine Waters (D-CA), House Financial Services Chairwoman.

According to reports, the representative has paid her daughter, Karen Waters, $74,000 so far this year. The first and second quarters, according to the Federal Election Commission (FEC), saw the younger Waters earning $45,000. New filings show the Congresswoman paid her daughter $29,000 in the third quarter alone.

The FEC filings show that Rep. Waters compensated her daughter for slate-mailing services. These services provided voters with sort of a guide on who to vote for in upcoming elections. While the FEC doesn’t prohibit their use or the hiring of family members to carry them out, it does dictate that the family member must earn a fair market value. The FEC adds that any excess to that amount is personal use.

It’s difficult to determine a fair market value on slate-mailing services as Waters was the only federal candidate to use one in the 2020 election. Now, there’s a question as to whether or not the younger Waters’ services helped her mother’s campaign in any way. Or is the salary she’s received actually just Representative Waters funneling campaign funds to her daughter?
