The recent operation conducted by ICE agents and local authorities serves as a prime example of law enforcement efforts to uphold U.S. immigration laws, as they arrested 84 illegal aliens.

The operation netted gang members, previously deported felons, and individuals possessing illegal firearms and narcotics, highlighting the ongoing crisis at America’s southern border and its impact on American communities.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents, working alongside Tennessee Highway Patrol officers, conducted approximately 150 traffic stops in predominantly Latino neighborhoods of South Nashville.
The multi-day operation resulted in the detention of 84 illegal aliens, many of whom were transported to federal detention facilities in Louisiana.
Among those arrested was a known gang member and a 39-year-old illegal from Mexico with multiple prior deportations and felony convictions.
Many detainees were found to be driving without valid licenses, while others were discovered with illegal drugs and firearms—a clear threat to community safety.
“Protecting the safety and security of our communities remains a top priority for ICE,” Lindsay Williams from ICE stated.
She continued, “As part of our ongoing mission to uphold U.S. immigration laws, our targeted enforcement operations are specifically focused on individuals who threaten public safety or national security.”
Furthermore, the successful operation stands in stark contrast to the Biden-Harris administration’s border policies, which have allowed millions of illegal aliens to pour across the southern border.
ICE officials emphasized that their officers are “highly trained professionals committed to strategic enforcement and maintaining community trust,” focusing on removing those who pose threats to American citizens.
Predictably, liberal Nashville Mayor Freddie O’Connell attacked the operation, claiming ICE was “terrorizing” the community and causing “long-lasting trauma.”
The mayor’s office, along with the Metro Nashville Police Department and Davidson County Sheriff’s Office, deliberately refused to participate in the enforcement action.
“The trauma inflicted on families is long-lasting, and I’m doing everything in my power consistent with applicable law to protect anyone who calls Nashville home,” O’Connell said.
This shows he is concerned with protecting illegal aliens than with the safety of law-abiding Nashville residents.
Left-wing activist groups also condemned the operation, with local organization TIRRC falsely claiming that authorities were “arbitrarily rounding up parents” despite clear evidence that the operation targeted areas with histories of traffic crashes, gang activity, and crime.
Meanwhile, the operation continued throughout the week, with additional stops on Monday night and Tuesday morning.
Tennessee Highway Patrol reported recovering multiple illegal weapons and dangerous drugs during the stops, demonstrating the very real public safety threat posed by illegal immigration in American communities.
While liberal politicians and activists continue to prioritize open borders over citizen safety, these law enforcement agencies have shown that targeted immigration enforcement works.
