“‘Sex is ‘not limited’ to being male or female, the World Health Organization (WHO) will say in new guidance.
“The WHO, an international authority on all things health, said it was ‘going beyond’ the use of binary terms to ‘recognise gender and sexual diversity.’
“But experts called the move a ‘dismissal of basic biology’ and could lead to medical advice being de-sexed and over-complicated.” [emphasis added]
In its explanation:
“WHO said its guidance would go ‘beyond non-binary approaches to gender and health to recognise gender and sexual diversity or the concepts that gender identity exists on a continuum and that sex is not limited to male or female.'” [emphasis added]
