‘Car Graveyards’ Filled With EVs (VIDEO)

(TheLastPatriotNews.com) – In a new blow to the extreme left’s attempt to force its environmental agenda on consumers, freezing temperatures in Chicago have caused electric vehicles (EVs) to die, resulting in a situation in which EV charging stations in the city resemble “car graveyards” packed full of “dead robots.”

A recent influx of incapacitated electric vehicles, predominantly Tesla cars, has inundated Chicago’s Oak Brook Supercharger station.

This is due to an intense cold snap that has rendered many EVs inoperative and stationary, according to Breitbart News, which cites a news report by Fox 32.

The current bout of frigid temperatures in Chicago has had a substantial impact on EVs, which has resulted in an uncommon spectacle at the Oak Brook Tesla Supercharging station.

This facility, along with numerous others in the Chicago area, has been swamped with inoperative Teslas. Owners are encountering obstacles in recharging their vehicles.

Tesla owner Tyler Beard personally faced the challenges brought on by the cold weather. He has been attempting to recharge his Tesla since Sunday afternoon, only to be disappointed.

“Nothing. No juice. Still on zero percent,” he said.

The difficulties he faced in charging are a consequence of the adverse effects that subzero temperatures have on EV batteries, Breitbart notes.

It stresses that, from irate Tesla owners posting videos of their cars failing to start to those needing to charge their vehicles up to six times in one day due to severely diminished battery performance, Tesla cars appear ill-equipped to withstand winter conditions across a significant portion of North America.

Beard’s situation was not an isolated incident, as many others at the Oak Brook station encountered similar problems.

“This is crazy. It’s a disaster. Seriously,” said another Tesla owner, Chalis Mizelle, who abandoned her car and sought alternative transportation:

“We got a bunch of dead robots out here,” said another individual.

The impact of the cold weather extended beyond mere inconvenience for some.

For instance, Kevin Sumrak, upon arriving at O’Hare and finding his Tesla unresponsive, had to hire a flatbed tow truck to find a functioning charging station.

Tesla did not respond to inquiries regarding this issue.

“Like any new technology, there’s a learning curve for people. It’s not plug-and-go. You have to precondition the battery, meaning that you have to get the battery up to the optimal temperature to accept a fast charge, commented local automotive expert, Mark Bilek of the Chicago Auto Trade Association.
