Enviros Dead Wrong – Experts

(TheLastPatriotNews.com) – In disturbing new evidence of the devastating effects of the climate policies pushed by the Biden administration and widely propagated by green activists, experts have revealed that those are actually going to take a heavy toll on minorities and the working class rather than helping them.

This climate agenda, highlighted by Vice President Kamala Harris as encompassing around $1 trillion in government expenditure, aims to support minority communities and offer green job opportunities to those potentially displaced from industries with high emissions.

Yet, it’s argued that both these groups might suffer the greatest economic strain from these initiatives, as stated by experts cited by The Daily Caller.

In its efforts to transform the US power grid, the Biden administration plans to promote the widespread use of electric vehicles (EVs) and encourage using more efficient, albeit often pricier, household appliances.

Significant taxpayer funds have been allocated for these purposes, often guided by the administration’s “Justice40” guidelines, which focus on environmental spending in disadvantaged communities.

The “Justice40” initiative is a directive for federal agencies to ensure that “40% of the overall benefits of certain Federal investments flow to disadvantaged communities that are marginalized, underserved, and overburdened by pollution,” as per the White House.

However, skepticism about Biden’s climate agenda is becoming more widespread.

“A top priority for black communities now is home ownership. Green policies make the cost of building homes more expensive,” Donna Jackson, the director of membership for the National Center’s Project 21 black leadership network, told The Caller.

“For communities with lower education rates, the green agenda to deindustrialize the country is a financial disaster for minority communities,” she added.

O.H. Skinner, the executive director of the Alliance for Consumers, also voiced concerns.

According to his organization’s calculations, the regulations related to appliances could cost homeowners over $9,000 upfront.

“In cities where it is really hard to pay rent, when you drive up electricity bills, it is brutal. When you drive up the costs of putting appliances in, that is really brutal,” Skinner said.

“Higher-cost energy is a regressive tax on the least well-off and disproportionately harms them… By making energy more costly and less reliable, economic opportunities for the least well-off in society will be diminished,” commented Jonathan Lesser, an adjunct fellow at the Manhattan Institute and the president of Continental Economics.
