Mahomes Credits God

(TheLastPatriotNews.com) – Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes gave a big shout-out to God after his team got the Super Bowl LVIII victory in a thrilling overtime win against the San Francisco 49ers, with a score of 25-22 on Sunday. This win marks back-to-back Super Bowl titles for the Chiefs.

Right after the game, Mahomes, now a three-time Super Bowl MVP, didn’t hold back his gratitude. “I just got to give God the glory,” he said, celebrating his team’s resilience throughout a challenging season. “He [God] challenged us to make us better,” Mahomes continued. “And I am so proud of my guys man, this is awesome. It’s legendary.”

Mahomes is no stranger to talking about his faith. Last February, after bagging the NFL’s Most Valuable Player award for the 2022 season, he again pointed to the sky. “First, I want to thank God for giving me this platform and putting so many amazing people around me to help support this dream I’ve had since I was a little kid,” he expressed. “Without him, none of this would be possible.”

The Chiefs’ star has been open about how Christianity influences his life, especially on the football field. “My Christian faith plays a role in everything that I do,” Mahomes revealed at a Super Bowl event last year. He shared how he looks to God for guidance, aiming to honor Him on the grand stage of the Super Bowl. “I mean, I always ask God to lead me in the right direction and let me be who I am for His name,” he added. “Obviously it will be on a huge stage in the Super Bowl that He’s given me and I want to make sure I’m glorifying Him while I do it.”

Mahomes also reflected on his faith last year following a comeback from an injury, which helped the Chiefs secure a win over the Cincinnati Bengals in the AFC Championship. “First off, I wanna thank God, man,” he said at the time. “He healed my body this week, had to battle through that. He gave me the strength to be out here.”
