Billionaire and tech mogul Elon Musk has boldly bashed President Donald Trump’s and the GOP’s signature tax and massive spending bill.
Read the tweet below.
Despite his role in Trump’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), Musk is not holding back criticism of a bill that threatens fiscal conservatism while the radical left celebrates another victory against taxpayers.
Musk criticized the Republican-led “One Big Beautiful Bill Act” during a forthcoming CBS interview.
The bill passed the House and now heads to the Senate, including multi-trillion-dollar tax breaks and increased defense spending.
The tech mogul’s frustration stems from the bill’s projected $3.8 trillion increase in the federal deficit over the next decade, which directly contradicts his mission to cut government waste.
As the national debt balloons to a staggering $36.2 trillion, Musk’s DOGE initiative has been working tirelessly to identify and eliminate wasteful spending, already claiming to have saved taxpayers $170 billion.
“I was, like, disappointed to see the massive spending bill, frankly, which increases the budget deficit, not just decrease it, and undermines the work that the DOGE team is doing,” Musk said in the interview,
This exposed the contradiction between Trump’s rhetoric on fiscal responsibility and the reality of this legislation.
While Trump and congressional Republicans claim the bill will stimulate economic growth to offset tax cuts, the numbers tell a different story.
The legislation could increase the US deficit by about $600 billion in the next fiscal year alone, with the deficit expected to approach $2 trillion by year’s end.
Still, this is not the fiscal conservatism that MAGA voters were promised.

The bill aims to extend tax cuts from 2017, increase defense spending, and fund mass deportations of illegal aliens.
While these goals align with conservative values, the proposed raising of the debt ceiling by $4 trillion represents exactly the kind of Washington swamp behavior that Trump promised to drain.
The rift between Musk and Trump highlights growing tensions within the GOP about fiscal responsibility.
In addition, Musk’s DOGE initiative has faced significant challenges from entrenched bureaucrats.
The tech billionaire has described the federal bureaucracy as “much worse than I realized.”
His team’s efforts have resulted in significant government streamlining, with reports indicating 275,000 unnecessary government jobs have been eliminated.
Musk defended his work with the administration despite these disagreements, simply stating, “I did what needed to be done.”
The legislation now faces strong opposition in the Senate, where true fiscal conservatives have an opportunity to stand against this latest attempt to burden future generations with unsustainable debt.
