(TheLastPatriotNews.com) – In a decisive and necessary effort to force the Biden administration to perform its legal obligation to defend the nation’s borders, Texas is now suing Joe Biden and the federal government for cutting the barbed wire the state has installed to try to tackle the giant illegal immigrant invasion.
Over 7 million illegal immigrants have entered the US since President Joe Biden entered the White House in January 2021. Among those are about 2 million gotaways.
The administration of Texas’ GOP Governor Greg Abbott has moved to sue the federal government over the latter’s decision to cut wire set up by the state along the border, The Daily Caller reports.
According to the lawsuit, federal agents have been actively destroying Texas’ border wire, alleging that this action is to “encourage and assist thousands of aliens to illegally cross the Rio Grande and enter Texas.”
Texas set up this wire as a security measure, especially given the rise in illegal border crossings. The report notes that Abbott had specifically directed state agencies to establish barbed wire barriers for this reason.
The lawsuit points out that by destroying the wire, the federal government isn’t just destroying state property but also undermining Texas’ efforts to maintain border security. This, the state argues, creates vulnerabilities in its defenses against illegal entries.
“Americans across the country were horrified to watch Biden’s open-border policy in action: agents were physically cutting wires and assisting the aliens’ entry into our state,” Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton declared in a statement.
“This is illegal. It puts our country and our citizens at risk. The courts must put a stop to it, or Biden’s free-for-all will make this crushing immigration crisis even worse,” he added.
Various entities and individuals from the federal side are listed as defendants in this lawsuit, including the Department of Homeland Security, US Customs and Border Patrol, and specific officials.
In September, a reporter working for The Caller witnessed illegal migrants expressing gratitude towards Border Patrol agents after they had cut the wire.
“I want to be crystal clear – what’s happening is not the fault of the men and women of the US Border Patrol. They have been thrust into an untenable no-win chaotic situation. Place blame for the lawlessness at our borders where it belongs – the Biden Administration,” Mark Morgan, former acting Customs and Border Protection Commissioner, commented in September.
