(TheLastPatriotNews.com) – In another leftist kowtow to America’s illegal immigrant invasion, Democrat-run Illinois has adopted a law allowing illegal aliens to become police officers.
The new state legislation signed at the end of last week by Illinois’ leftist Governor J.B. Pritzker allows non-U.S. citizens with work permits to serve as law enforcement officers.
Those eligible include the illegal immigrants trafficked to the US as children and allowed to stay in the country under former President Barack Obama’s DACA program “Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals”).
The radical leftist law was passed by the Democrat supermajorities in both chambers of Illinois’s legislature in June, opening state police jobs to DACA illegal aliens plus other foreigners in possession of federal work permits.
“An individual against whom immigration action has been deferred by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services under the federal DACA process is allowed to apply for the position of police officer, deputy sheriff, or special policeman, subject to specified requirements,” states a summary of the law.
Gavin Newsom, the Governor of California, another Democrat-run state billing itself as a “sanctuary” state, i.e., violating US immigration laws, has also made it possible for illegal immigrants to become local, county, and state police officers, The Washington Times notes in a report.
Not unlike Illinois’, California’s law also requires solely a federal work permit for anybody to become a police officer.
“Work permits, specifically under President Joe Biden’s administration, are given out regularly to border crossers and illegal aliens released into the United States after crossing the southern border,” the report notes.
The pro-illegal immigration Illinois legislation was adopted despite ferocious opposition from Republicans and police groups outraged by the idea of foreigners arresting Americans in America, Fox News reports.
“No sane state would allow foreign nationals to arrest their citizens, this is madness!” GOP Illinois Rep. Mary Miller reacted on Twitter.
“In the state of Illinois, illegals can now become police officers. Yes, you heard that right. People who are breaking the law by their presence here can now arrest American citizens,” chimed in US Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO).
“What message does this legislation send when it allows people who do not have legal status to become the enforcers of our laws?” fumed the Fraternal Order of Police
