VIDEO: Tucker Explains Moscow Trip

(TheLastPatriotNews.com) – In a surprising revelation defying his critics, former Fox News host Tucker Carlson has disclosed that he is in Moscow to interview Russian leader Vladimir Putin just as the latter is about to mark two years since his full-scale military invasion of a pro-Western Ukraine.

The conservative TV host explained his decision by emphasizing the role of journalism in educating the American populace.

“Two years into a world that’s reshaping the entire world, most Americans are not informed. They have no real idea what’s happening in this region, here in Russia or 600 miles away in Ukraine. But they should know, they’re paying for much of it in ways that they might not yet fully perceive,” Carlson argued.

He argued Russia’s full-scale attack on its democratic neighbor had transformed global military and trade alliances, thus significantly impacting the world economy.

Carlson criticized the mainstream media for failing to deliver accurate news, leaving their audience either misinformed or uninformed about significant changes taking place.

“Their media outlets are corrupt. They lie to their readers and their viewers, and they do that mostly by omission,” he said.

Further, Carlson blasted the American media for its extensive coverage of Ukraine and its President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, calling his interviews “fawning pep sessions” serving as government propaganda.

The former Fox News anchor also alleged the Biden administration had “illegally spied” on his team’s communications to prevent an interview with Putin.

“I’m pretty certain they repeated that last month,” he mentioned, alleging he was spied on by the National Security Agency (NSA) in June 2021.

The White House press secretary, Karine Jean-Pierre, dismissed Carlson’s allegations as “ridiculous.”

Despite these challenges, Carlson announced that the full interview would be available on his website, with Elon Musk ensuring that it wouldn’t be suppressed on X.

Various commentators have reacted to Carlson’s news by expressing outrage. Bill Browder, the CEO of Hermitage Capital, who was repressed by the Putin regime before 2005, described Carlson as “either remarkably stupid or consciously evil,” as cited by The Spectator.

In an op-ed for The Kyiv Independent, analyst George Monastiriakos commented that going to Moscow to interview Putin was like going to Nazi Germany to interview Hitler.

“Tucker Carlson came out of the cold & admitted that he is in Moscow to meet Vladimir Putin – a wanted war criminal – and to give Putin’s “side of the story” about the invasion & genocide of Ukraine,” The Kyiv Independent correspondent-at-large Jason Jay Smart wrote.
