(TheLastPatriotNews.com) – Ramping up the efforts to send him to jail, twelve jurors have been selected to deliberate on the Democratic-led criminal hush-money witch hunt involving former president Donald Trump, taking place in Manhattan.
Manhattan Supreme Court Judge Juan Merchan announced, “We have our jury,” and said the next step would be to choose six alternate jurors.
The jury panel expanded quickly with the addition of seven jurors after two other jurors who had initially been chosen were dismissed.
One of the dismissed jurors stated she was concerned about the potential public exposure of her identity, a fear she had even after being told the prospective jurors’ names would be kept private.
The concern skyrocketed after court proceedings revealed personal information about her and others, including where they worked.
Judge Merchan then ordered media representatives not to report on the current or past employers of prospective jurors and to exclude such details from the court transcript.
Another juror was dismissed after questions arose regarding how accurate his responses were during the selection process. Despite being dismissed, the juror told the press he believed his dismissal was unwarranted.
Trump faces 34 charges for falsifying business records concerning a payment allegedly made to adult film actress Stormy Daniels.
The investigation led by New York District Attorney Alvin Bragg focuses on whether Trump altered internal business documents to disguise reimbursements to his former attorney Michael Cohen, who paid Daniels $130,000 to remain silent about her allegations of a past affair with Trump.
Judge Merchan also issued a gag order preventing Trump from discussing potential witnesses, jurors, attorneys, court staff or their family members in a manner that could significantly disrupt the proceedings. District Attorney Alvin Bragg is not covered by this order.
Recently, the prosecution moved to have Trump held in contempt for supposedly violating the gag order, including referencing a statement by Fox News’ Jesse Watters: “They are catching undercover Liberal Activists lying to the Judge in order to get on the Trump Jury.”
Judge Merchan stated he would review the prosecution’s claims next week.
