American Muslims’ Message to Biden

In an unexpected turn of events, Muslim American leaders from crucial swing states have launched the #AbandonBiden campaign, driven by their dissatisfaction with Joe Biden’s perceived reluctance to call for a ceasefire in the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict.

During a recent press conference in Michigan, leaders from states such as Arizona, Georgia, and Wisconsin pledged not to support Biden in the 2024 election, accusing him of abandoning the Muslim Americans who played a role in his 2020 victory.

Hassan Abdel Salam, leader of the #AbandonBiden National Coalition, expressed a clear stance, stating, “The position of the Biden administration is a red line for all Muslim Americans.” The leaders outlined their grievances, emphasizing Biden’s failure to call for a ceasefire and accusing him of having the blood of Palestinian children on his hands.

While some leaders issued warnings, others declared their decision to withdraw support. Tarek Amin from Wisconsin noted, “You won by 20,000 votes. We will change the vote. We will swing it, and we won’t be standing with you this upcoming election.”

However, the movement gained a controversial dimension as leaders referred to a Palestinian terrorist group as the catalyst for their discontent. The group allegedly initiated a wide-scale terrorist attack against Israel, resulting in over 1,200 casualties, including many elderly, women, and children. The organization also kidnapped more than 200 individuals, releasing about 100 in a reported hostage exchange with Israel while still holding around 140 in captivity.

Attorney and Muslim American leader Hassan Shibly from Florida asserted, “We will do everything in our power to make sure Biden does not get the critical swing state of Florida.” The leaders collectively declared Biden’s loss in the 2024 election, emphasizing their role as powerful American Muslims with both financial resources and voting influence.

The Biden administration has faced criticism from various factions during the recent Israel-Hamas conflict. The shift in the administration’s stance, from unconditional support for Israel to calls for “pauses” in the conflict, has led to increased discontent. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin warned Israel about protecting civilians, emphasizing the moral responsibility to do so.

As protests against Biden’s handling of the conflict grow, the #AbandonBiden campaign has positioned itself as a formidable force, stating that Biden has already lost the 2024 election. The complex dynamics of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict continue to shape political sentiments and alliances in unexpected ways.
