DeSantis Memo Leaker Named

(TheLastPatriotNews.com) – A recent report this past Sunday disclosed the identity of the individual responsible for leaking a memo detailing Ron DeSantis’ strategy for the GOP debate in August 2023.

This document which emerged on August 17, 2023 encouraged DeSantis to aggressively target Vivek Ramaswamy during the Republican primary debate positioning the Florida governor as the natural successor to Trump within the GOP.

The Bulwark has identified Luke Thompson, associated with the super PAC Trust in the Mission which supported Tim Scott as one of the people behind the leak.

The strategy memo for Ron DeSantis was made by Jeff Roe from the Never Back Down PAC and it wasn’t supposed to be known by the super PAC’s leaders or known by DeSantis’ campaign before it popped up in The New York Times (NYT).

The leak stirred up some drama, with people whispering that Roe might have purposely leaked the memo to the NYT on purpose. But, The Bulwark shared that Roe just put the memo up on his company’s website legally. This move made it super easy for folks from Scott’s super PAC to stumble upon it without much effort.

The memo said that DeSantis should support Donald Trump when Chris Christie attacks him and also use Trump’s legal issues as an advantage. It even had a specific suggestion for dealing with Christie basically saying that since Trump wasn’t there to defend himself they should just keep quiet and don’t mention him.

In a chat with Fox News Digital DeSantis was straight up saying, “The memo is not mine. I haven’t read it,” making it known he had nothing to do with the strategy discussed in the memo before it hit the headlines.
