Gunmen Kidnap 31

(TheLastPatriotNews.com) – Tragedy strikes again, this time, a kidnapping happening near the southern border of the country where the most surprising thing of all was the “advanced” means in possession of the criminals.

This concerning development underscores the ongoing security challenges along the U.S.-Mexico borders as the group of masked gunmen in Mexico orchestrated the kidnapping of 31 migrants from a bus as it journeyed towards the Texas border.

This alarming incident occurred over the weekend on a highway linking the border cities of Reynosa and Matamoros, across from Brownsville, Texas, as detailed by Federal Security Secretary Rosa Icela Rodríguez.

The bus, transporting 36 individuals, was forcibly stopped, and the migrants, hailing from countries like Ecuador, Colombia, Venezuela, Honduras, and Mexico, were abducted by the gunmen using five vehicles. This brazen act highlights the dangers faced by migrants and the complexity of border security issues.

Rodríguez informed that Mexican authorities are actively employing technological means to track down the kidnapped individuals. Efforts include tracing phone signals to locate both the victims and the perpetrators, as reported by Reuters. In addition to technological measures, authorities are reviewing bus surveillance footage and conducting aerial searches, although no leads on the missing persons have emerged thus far.

This incident is notably alarming due to the scale of the abduction. Rodríguez described it as “atypical,” as migrants are generally kidnapped in smaller groups. The region, controlled by organized crime syndicates, has a grim history of such kidnappings. Groups often seize migrants for ransom, with Tamaulipas state witnessing several large-scale abductions. Past incidents include the disappearance of 22 people from a bus in March 2019 and the horrific massacre of 72 Central American migrants by the Zetas cartel in 2010.
