Governor Larry Rhoden, in his first action in office, bravely signed SB 7 into law, standing tall with President Trump and Secretary Noem to protect our borders.

South Dakota’s sanctuary city ban, named SB 7, was the inaugural bill signed by Governor Larry Rhoden.

This legislation aims to eliminate sanctuary cities in the state, ensuring that local policies support immigration enforcement efforts.

Fully committed to public safety, SB 7 allows officers involved in immigration enforcement to carry out their duties without hindrance.

Governor Rhoden has been vocal about the significance of this bill, emphasizing the need to remove criminal illegal aliens to keep South Dakota safe.

He stated, “We must do everything we can to keep our people safe, including removing criminal illegal aliens from this country. Signing SB 7 was an important step in keeping South Dakota strong, safe, and free.”

Governor Rhoden has showcased his commitment to working alongside President Trump and Secretary Noem, aligning SB 7 with their broader efforts to enhance national security.

His dedication was further underscored by his visit to South Dakota National Guard troops stationed at the Southern Border, collaborating closely with the Trump administration, Noem, and the Border Patrol.

“President Trump and Secretary Noem are making tremendous strides to keep our nation secure. We will continue to do all we can to support their efforts,” Gov. Larry Rhoden said.

The South Dakota Highway Patrol is actively supporting these federal efforts with a Memorandum of Agreement to assist U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in enforcement actions.

This collaboration ensures that state resources are effectively contributing to the fight against illegal immigration.

As the July 1 date approaches, South Dakota sets the stage for a new era of public safety and disciplined enforcement of immigration laws.

In an era when many states are succumbing to leftist agendas, South Dakota offers a compelling model that aligns with the principles held dear by American patriots.
