(TheLastPatriotNews.com) – To stop Joe Biden’s hare-brained idea of implementing a new mandate regarding the car industry, former President Donald Trump’s presidential campaign has responded to Biden’s plan to dismantle the gas-powered car industry.
The mandate was recently revealed and is one of the most drastic pushes in history to force consumers to drive government-mandated electric vehicles.
A Trump campaign spokesperson said in a statement, “Joe Biden’s extreme electric vehicle mandate will force Americans to buy ultra-expensive cars they do not want and cannot afford while destroying the U.S. auto industry in the process.”
The spokesperson added, “[T]his radical policy is anti-jobs, anti-consumer, and anti-American. It will destroy the livelihoods of countless U.S. autoworkers while sending the U.S. auto industry to China.”
The statement continued by saying that Trump will reverse Biden’s extreme electric car mandate on the first day he enters the White House. Likewise, the statement mentioned that Trump will protect Americans’ freedom to take a ride in whichever car they choose.
The finalized rule was a concession to far-Left environmentalists who demanded the most aggressive effort ever to eliminate combustion engine vehicles.
The Washington Post called the effort “controversial” and noted that the rule will force automakers to rapidly “ramp up sales of electric vehicles while slashing carbon emissions from gasoline-powered models.”
In contrast, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) claimed that its national pollution standard, which could be killed in the courts, would prevent more than 7 billion tons of carbon emissions and provide the U.S. with $100 billion in annual benefits.
Likewise, the EPA stated that the rule will prevent “up to 2,500 premature deaths in 2055” and will reduce “heart attacks, respiratory and cardiovascular illnesses, aggravated asthma, and decreased lung function.”
