(TheLastPatriotNews.com) – Exhibiting a striking new level of hypocrisy, Joe Biden removed his COVID-19 mask during a White House ceremony minutes after his aides said he would be wearing one after his wife Jill tested positive for the virus again.
On Monday, it was announced that the first lady had been infected with COVID-19 despite being double-vaccinated and double-boosted.
Then, on Tuesday morning, Biden’s White House Press Secretary, Karine Jean-Pierre, declared that the president would wear a face mask as a precaution.
“President Biden tested negative last night for COVID-19 and tested negative again today. He’s not experiencing any symptoms,” she said.
Nevertheless, Biden broke his team’s promise shortly after that when he removed his mask during a White House East Room prayer and ceremony.
The prayer was part of a ceremony during which the 80-year-old president awarded the Medal of Honor to 81-year-old retired US Army Capt. Larry Taylor.
In 1968, during the Vietnam War, Taylor of Chattanooga, Tennessee, led an audacious helicopter rescue of stranded US troops.
In the middle of the prayer, however, Biden removed his face mask, a black KN-95-style face covering, thus flouting the rules announced by his team after his wife became COVID-positive, The New York Post reports.
The president also made headlines with his actions during the award ceremony by leaving it unexpectedly before its closing prayer.
The report points out that both Biden and Taylor are deemed high-risk individuals for COVID-19 infections due to their age.
Yet, after the president removed his mask, he spent about four minutes standing six inches away from the vet.
“Since the president was with the first lady yesterday, he will be masking while indoors and around people in alignment with CDC guidance. And as has been the practice in the past, the president will remove his mask when sufficiently distanced from others indoors and while outside as well,” Jean-Pierre had said earlier.
A Breitbart News report points out that the preventive measure didn’t make sense anyway since a Cochrane Library study found face masks made “little or no difference to the outcome of influenza-like illness (ILI)/COVID-19 like illness compared to not wearing masks.”
