(TheLastPatriotNews.com) – In a severe blow to patriots nationwide, the U.S. Supreme Court has voted by a razor-thin majority to let the Biden administration cut down the razor wire GOP-led Texas has installed on the Southern Border to try to fend off the nation’s staggering illegal alien invasion.
In a 5-4 ruling on Monday, which saw two of the six conservative justices on the panel side with the three leftists, the Supreme Court lifted a previous restriction set by the Fifth Circuit Court, which had prevented the U.S. Border Patrol from dismantling the wire while a related lawsuit is ongoing.
The U.S. top court thus sided with the Biden administration’s request to enable federal agents to remove the barbed wire barriers installed by Texas along the border, The Daily Wire reports.
Conservative Justices Clarence Thomas, Samuel Alito, Neil Gorsuch, and Brett Kavanaugh favored keeping the injunction.
Chief Justice John Roberts and Justice Amy Coney Barrett voted with the leftists, National Review notes.
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) had sought an urgent intervention from the Supreme Court earlier in January.
They argued that the wire posed an obstruction, hindering agents from effectively patrolling the border and managing individuals attempting to cross it.
The DHS’s request was pending when the Texas Department of Public Safety took over Shelby Park in Eagle Pass, Texas.
This move led the Biden administration to assert in a court document that Border Patrol access near the park was being blocked.
“Federal law unambiguously grants Border Patrol agents the authority, without a warrant, to access private land within 25 miles of the international border,” the DHS appeal stated, as cited by A.P.
Texas Solicitor General Aaron Nielson, representing the state’s stance, contended that the federal administration lacked a practical understanding of the border situation.
He highlighted that crossings were reduced after federal involvement was minimized.
“This case began when federal Border Patrol agents began cutting wire fences that, among other uses, helped channel individuals— unlawful migrants and U.S. citizens alike—to a lawful border crossing at a port of entry,” Nielson stated, as cited by The Wire.
“Border Patrol began this practice of destroying Texas’s property, according to the district court’s findings, in order to ‘facilitate the surge of migrants into Eagle Pass,’ using boats to ‘literally usher’ people across illegally,” he added.
The U.S. Supreme Court justices provided no explanation for their votes, Breitbart News points out in a report.
