Terrorist Tunnel Discovered

(TheLastPatriotNews.com) – A significant operation took place and the results turned into a brutal massacre as Israeli troops discovered a hidden tunnel network under a baby crib in northern Gaza and raided the vacation homes of key senior Hamas commanders in the southern part of the region, officials announced Sunday.

The Israel Defense Forces’ 7th Armored Brigade, penetrating deeper into Khan Younis, the largest hub in southern Gaza, targeted the offices and private residences of high-ranking Hamas officials. This includes Yahya Sinwar, identified as a terror leader and the mastermind behind the Oct. 7 massacre, as reported by The Times of Israel.

Col. Elad Tzuri of the IDF commented on the findings: “We found weapons, tunnels inside vacation homes of senior Hamas officials. We see a lot of tunnel shafts here, still encountering the enemy but gaining operational control of the area.”

One of the significant locations breached was the vacation home of Sinwar, who had previously been encircled by IDF forces earlier this month amidst intense conflict in the region. Despite these efforts, Sinwar remains at large, with Israeli officials believing he is utilizing Gaza’s extensive underground tunnel system, spanning approximately 300 miles, for concealment.
Sinwar is suspected of orchestrating the Oct. 7 massacre, which resulted in over 1,200 casualties in Israel.

In Khan Younis, IDF troops uncovered around 30 tunnel entrances, intensifying their operations against Hamas. The Israeli military reported significant engagements with enemy combatants and the destruction of numerous Hamas missile launch sites and observation posts.

A particularly alarming discovery was a tunnel concealed beneath a baby crib in a northern Gaza home, highlighting the complexity of Hamas’ network. Additionally, an outpost belonging to Hamas’ Deir al-Balah battalion was neutralized, yielding valuable intelligence materials.

IDF forces also targeted the residence of a member of Hamas’ elite Nukhba forces, seizing weapons and equipment. Col. Tzuri highlighted the strategic significance of these operations, stating that the IDF has effectively taken control of the central area of Bani Suheila and the “heart of Khan Younis.”

Amid these developments, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reinforced his commitment to the conflict, declaring that the war would persist until Hamas is completely dismantled. He emphasized the necessity of this despite international pressure and the profound toll on Israel.

This statement followed Netanyahu’s first address since an unfortunate incident where IDF soldiers mistakenly killed three Israeli hostages in Gaza. Additionally, Netanyahu hinted at ongoing negotiations, potentially involving Hamas and Qatar, for the release of remaining hostages. Reports indicate that discussions are being facilitated by the Mossad intelligence agency with Qatari representatives.
