(TheLastPatriotNews.com) – The Republican Party will unite completely behind former President Donald Trump for the 2024 election, former Arizona gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake has predicted.
Lake, a staunch Trump ally, spoke in an interview for the Fox News program “Sunday Morning Futures.”
“I think, eventually, the Republicans will unite around President Trump. He’s dominating, obviously, if you look at the poll numbers, nobody can even touch him,” she stated.
The former Fox anchor declared her hopes that the GOP would not waste much time to declare Trump its 2024 presidential nominee and unite behind him.
Lake stressed that the 45th president of the United States was already enjoying a massive lead in the polls, dozens of percentage points ahead of his competitors for the Republican nomination.
The Arizona Republican argued that Americans were eager to see a candidate who had a record of demonstrating that he could get things done.
She described last week’s first Republican primary debate among eight nomination candidates, where Trump was the big no-show, as “kind of fun and cute” but pointless.
The former president skipped the debate by arguing there was no need for him to participate because of his giant lead in the polls, with none of the other bidders coming even close to him.
Lake, who some deem a likely running mate for a new Trump ticket, argued he had already shown America what he could do.
“I mean, the debate was kind of fun and cute, but let’s face it. People want someone they know can already do the job. President Trump has done the job,” she declared.
“We had the best economy of my lifetime. Everyone was doing better. The border was secure. And now, under Bidenomics — if that’s what he calls it — people are nearly bankrupt,” the former gubernatorial candidate emphasized.
She attacked President Joe Biden on different counts, including his administration’s policies on illegal immigration.
“Americans from all walks of life are tired of it. They want President Trump back. And I think that the Republican Party will unite behind him, hopefully sooner rather than later, so we can defeat Joe Biden,” Lake concluded.
